Important Notice about Submitting Brazilian Visa in Beijing

Important Notice Regarding Invitation Letter Requirements

Effective Date: April 14, 2025

Dear Valued Applicants,
To ensure a smooth visa application process, please carefully follow the updated guidelines for invitation letters when submitting your application.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO VISA APPLICANTS

Essential Guidelines for Business Visa Supporting Documentation

As a means to facilitate the visa application process for company employees traveling to Brazil for business purposes, the Embassy of Brazil recalls that invitation letters must bring clear and specific information, in compliance with the relevant visa category requirements. Incomplete and/or vague invitation letters may result in the rejection of the application. To avoid such issues, please ensure that the supporting documentation include the following information:

1. Employee’s Information and Proof of Job Position:

2. Detailed Purpose of the Trip and Proof of Business Activities:

3. Company Identification and Signatory Proof:

4. Flight Itinerary Consistency

5. Undertaking of strict compliance with both Brazilian and Chinese Law:

Additionally, we kindly remind you that business visas are intended for activities such as taking part in business meetings, identifying investment or business opportunities, signing contracts, and participating in or exhibiting at workshops, trade shows, or industrial fairs/exhibitions. If the purpose of the trip is technical assistance, professional training or services, or others, the applicant must first request residence authorization from the Ministry of Justice in Brazil and subsequently apply for a work visa (VITEM V). Regarding this matter, please refer to the Ministry of Justice's website for further guidance < https://portaldeimigracao.mj.gov.br/pt/autorizacao-de-residencia-laboral >

Should you require further clarification, please feel free to contact the Visa Center at <info.beijing@blsinternational.net>

March 2025- Regarding the processing time in Beijing

Brazil Embassy would like to inform you that:

Embaixada Pequim-início — Ministério das Relações Exteriores

Due to the current high demand for visas, we are experiencing longer processing times. There is no fast-track or expedited processing available. If you urgently need to retrieve your passport, you may withdraw your application by sending us an email stating your request, along with your protocol number, full name, and passport number. In such cases, your visa application will be denied without prejudice to any future applications, and your passport will be returned to the visa center as soon as possible. Please note that withdrawal requests will not be eligible for a refund.

EMBASSY OF BRAZIL IN BEIJING
CONSULAR SECTION
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO VISA APPLICANTS

The consular section of the Brazilian Embassy in Beijing is aware of reports that persons acting as agents and intermediaries are engaged in the business of offering to Chinese citizens, in exchange for money, promises that they can “secure a time slot in the Visa Application Center", “ensure the quick processing” of applications for a visa, or otherwise easily obtain a Brazilian visa.

Due to the limited processing capacity of the consular section, coupled with the high demand for Brazilian visas from Chinese citizens, the waiting time for an appointment with the Visa Application Center may sometimes be longer than during certain periods of the year. This situation may be further complicated by the activities of the above-mentioned agents and intermediaries, who may, for example, create “fake appointments” in order to occupy slots that would otherwise be available to good- faith applicants. Such agents and intermediaries can engage in other practices that might disrupt the smooth functioning of the visa appointment system.

The consular section in Beijing has taken several measures to curb such deleterious practices by agents and intermediaries. The Embassy is discussing this matter with Chinese authorities who also submit visa applications to the consular section. Action has been taken, inter alia, to constantly monitor and track applications booked with the Visa Application Center in order to detect suspicious activity -in which case the corresponding applications will be rejected.

Visa applicants should also be aware that the consular section frequently rejects visa applications when the accompanying documentation (apparently prepared by agents and intermediaries) is reasonably believed to be fraudulent, suspicious, or otherwise incorrect.

As a result of all the above, if an agent or intermediary charges you extra money on a promise that he/she can “secure a time slot in the Visa Application Center", “ensure the quick processing” of your application for a visa, or otherwise easily obtain a Brazilian visa, there is a high likelihood that your application will be rejected.

Applicants seeking a visa in good faith are encouraged to book an appointment with the Visa Application Center (VAC) and submit their documentation according to the relevant guidelines. New slots for appointments are made available on the electronic portal of the VAC(https://brazil.blscn.cn) each day from Monday to Friday at 9am(Beijing time). If all documents are in order and the true purpose of the trip is clearly established, the visa request should be processed within a reasonably short period of time.

We're pleased to announce the release of additional appointment slots exclusively for business and tourism visa applicants. These slots will be available for appointments scheduled between November 27th and November 29th, 2024. The new slots will be released online at 09:00 A.M. CST on Tuesday, November 26th, 2024. Applicants are requested to book promptly as slots will be available on First come first serve basis .
